DuckDuckGo Search[official]

what is duckduckgo search?

DuckDuckGo is one of the world's most used privacy search engines. unlike google, it does not build advertising profiles around its users, does not store search histories tied to identities and does not follow you around with trackers afterwards. the version you see here is its official .onion mirror - the same index, the same results, reached entirely inside the tor network without ever touching the clearnet.

for tor users the onion address is more than a gimmick: queries over the mirror never leave the tor network at search time, which removes one more party that could correlate your activity. the address above is the one published by duckduckgo itself on its clearnet site - if the address you are using differs by even one character, you are not talking to duckduckgo.

this page tracks the mirror automatically: our checker opens the address through our own tor connection every few minutes and records whether it answered, how fast it loaded and how reliable it has been over the last seven days. a green badge means reachable - it says nothing about result quality, only that the door is open.

before you trust any of this

• .onion addresses are long on purpose. one wrong letter = someone else's server.
• if a service matters to you, cross-check its address against its own clearnet site or PGP-signed announcements.
• a green badge here means "reachable", never "trustworthy". we report reachability only.
