The Intercept[official]

what is the intercept?

the intercept is an adversarial news outlet known for reporting based on national security documents - the publication that worked with snowden's leaks and continues to cover surveillance, civil liberties and abuse of power. its official tor mirror carries the full publication and is advertised by the intercept itself.

an onion mirror fits the outlet's editorial mission naturally: readers researching surveillance topics often prefer that their reading habits not be observable to their isp or state filter, and tor provides exactly that when combined with the mirror.

this page continuously monitors the address shown below through our own tor connection. you get the current up/down badge, the most recent measured loading speed and a rolling seven-day uptime figure - enough to distinguish between "temporarily unreachable" and "gone". remember that reachability never equals endorsement: verify the address against the intercept's own clearnet site before trusting it.

before you trust any of this

• .onion addresses are long on purpose. one wrong letter = someone else's server.
• if a service matters to you, cross-check its address against its own clearnet site or PGP-signed announcements.
• a green badge here means "reachable", never "trustworthy". we report reachability only.
