what is dutch national police?
the strangest news-category entry: the dutch national police maintain their own onion service. historically it has served takedown notices for seized markets, warnings to visitors of seized infrastructure, and contact channels for tips.
when a market suddenly serves a police banner instead of its usual page, this is the kind of operation behind it - which makes the police presence a legitimate part of tracking the network's news layer.
the address is carried by the live directories and probed here like any other. one of the few onions where the operator is definitely not hiding.
before you trust any of this
- .onion addresses are long on purpose. one wrong letter = someone else's server.
- if a service matters to you, cross-check its address against its own clearnet site or PGP-signed announcements.
- a green badge here means "reachable", never "trustworthy". we report reachability only.
