what is dread?
dread is the forum of the onion network: a reddit-style board stack founded by hugbunter where the darknet community checks seller reputations, argues opsec, reads the market obituaries and does much of its talking. when a market in the category above exits or gets seized, the first account of it tends to be a dread thread.
the address tracked here (dreadytofa...) is the forum's v3 address, stable since its 2020 migration and carried byte-identical by the verification directories and encyclopedias - which matters, because no major onion site gets phished and cloned more. treat any variant of the hostname as an impostor.
the checker probes the address through our own tor connection on schedule, so the badge and the 7-day uptime window below reflect how the forum is actually answering right now - a site this visible takes ddos waves, and its quiet periods are part of the record.
before you trust any of this
- .onion addresses are long on purpose. one wrong letter = someone else's server.
- if a service matters to you, cross-check its address against its own clearnet site or PGP-signed announcements.
- a green badge here means "reachable", never "trustworthy". we report reachability only.
